New Feature: User-Submitted Articles

So you think you have what it takes to make it to The Spindash’s front page?  I hope you do, and I’ll even make it easy for you!  Write for us!  Submit an article, a review, an opinion, or any other work you want to proclaim to the world.  All you have to do is write it, attach it to an e-mail, and send it on over to us.

Now, for the sake of quality and legality, I have some conditions.  It shouldn’t be a big problem, just make sure you follow them, and we’ll all be golden.  Eventually, this listing will be added to the Contact Us page.

User submitted articles should conform to the following standards:

1. Please submit the article in .doc or .txt format.  We will not accept .docx format.  Attach it to an e-mail and send it to thespindash[at]gmail[dot]com.

2. Any submitted materials must be the submitter’s own original work.  Failure to submit original work will result in an automatic rejection.

3. The Spindash reserves the right to refuse or edit submitted work for any reason.  You may request your own work to be modified or taken down, but The Spindash has the right to reject this request.

4. If you are writing a review (game or otherwise), please ensure that it falls under the realm of what The Spindash stands for.  This includes Sonic products, Sega products, or franchises we have previously discussed on the podcast.

5. Please do not write articles on topics we’ve previously posted on.  We do not want twenty reviews of Sonic 3 & Knuckles.  If you do, you must be exhibiting a different opinion or perspective.

6. The length should be between 100 and 1000 words depending on the nature of the article.

7. It should be free of major grammar and spelling errors.

8. Topics must contain sufficient depth.  We will not accept opinions, reviews, or arguments that don’t provide reasoning.

9. Any submitted article must follow the same appropriate content policy that we expect from forum and comment submissions.  This includes, but is not limited to appropriate language, appropriate topics, and appropriate material.

10. In order to be published, you must add this statement to both the e-mail and the document:

“I, the writer, give permission to The Spindash and its owners to edit and/or publish this document in any way they see fit.  I understand that I will not receive monetary compensation for this document, and The Spindash will not attempt to sell this document for monetary gain.  I accept the terms and conditions that The Spindash has explained on the website.”
