Take a good look slightly above this statement and you’ll notice a link to Chapter 2 of “Sonic Man: Hero of Adventure.”  I mentioned before that I would change up the Sonic Man formula.  I want to continue Chaz’s story, but I don’t want it to be part of the show for those who are simply not interested with my drunken stumbling though humorous fan fiction.  The solution: if you don’t want it, you generally won’t get it.  If you want it, I’ll try to add a new chapter available through each Act’s release page.  And for our iTunes subscribers, we’ll release a compilation file after every fifth chapter.

This episode is actually several weeks in the making.  I hate to sit on something that long, but what must be must be.  I mention that next week will be our Sonic & Knuckles special.  Don’t worry, that’s not referring to the next episode, Act 42, but instead the one after that, 43.  So if you’d like to get your opinions in on the matter, do so before this Friday!

I love new technology, but more specifically, I like new technology that has clear utility.  More powerful systems?  I can understand that.  Motion controls?  You showed me Wii Sports, and I understood.  3D television and games?  It looks pretty, but I just don’t know how it adds to the experience.  I remember people yelling “Gimmick! Fad!” about the Wii throughout its life, but those who could use the remote as it was intended could legitimately make motion controls a real alternative to traditional buttons and control sticks.  Admittedly, I haven’t seen Avatar and I probably never will, but I just can’t see what 3D will improve in the home theater.  Even when I’ve seen other 3D movies, the only times I’m impressed by the effects are when the scene blatantly shouts “Hey! Look at this special effect we’re using!”  Interesting to see, but more distracting from the story than complimentary.  Further, being that games are an interactive medium, I definitely don’t see how 3D can influence the way we interact with a virtual world when we’re still bound by the flat screen and physical controls.  Personally, because I do enjoy seeing technology move forward, I hope to be proven wrong.  I want to be excited about 3D, but I’ve yet to see the thing to excite me.  I’ve yet to see a real killer app.
