. . . And that’s the word.
It’s been roughly two months since we’ve actually recorded this episode. If you’ve been cut off from all the happenings in and around the Sonic world, let me catch you up with some help from an unnamed listener who sent me an e-mail today:
Events since release of last Spindash episode (in no particular order):
Sonic 4: Episode 2 is shown, hyped, leaked, and released
Episode Metal announced and released
SASASR sequel rumored, announced, and receives a trailer
Dynasty Warriors/Onepiece announced, not warranting even a tweet from GX
SEGA reaches 10 years as a third-paty developer. SegaBits tries to discuss it, but get wrapped up in swearing and immaturely discussing the “hotness” of +30 women. Many yearn for the cleanness of The Spindash, but when going to their site, find nothing there
E3 fast approaches, and there are no predictions
[Editorial comment: I predict that the Wii U will be there and will generally be awesome. Then Sony will talk too long about stuff you don't care about, while Microsoft shows off Halo 4.]
April Fools comes and goes with no posts
A podcast is recorded, but not released as GX can’t edit
2p Start live, a podcast from a website that is officially dead, starts releasing episode at a higher frequency than the Spindash
GX asks the Internet to remind him to edit podcast over the weekend. GX does not edit the podcast over the weekend.
[Editorial interjection: In my defense, I DID edit the podcast that weekend. I just didn't finish it.]
Rumors abound of a new game, Sonic Dimensions. A chance to imitate Iizuka is missed.
[Editorial interjection: Crap, I do love imitating Iizuka.]
Here’s some things to add to that list:
Four job interviews, three of which were out of state.
Marscon 2012 (as mentioned in the episode).
Guest on Sonic Talk over at Sega Bits (I’ll post a link to this later this week).
Ignored several sketchy Sonic-related rumors.
Freaked the eff out over that whole Sega restructuring/firing thing.
Beginning of yard work season.
Discovered that My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is on Netflix, and decided to give it a try.
Bought both seasons on iTunes, watched every episode several times, self-ripped the songs from the show for my iPod, purchased figures of all six main characters, and fixed the hair on two of the figures to actually match that of the show.
Bought an Xbox 360 at a yard sale (gamertag: GX Echidna).
Bought the GBA versions of Space Channel 5 and Puyo Pop, also at a yard sale.
Ripped, converted and tagged my entire video library for use with Apple TV.
I’m sure within a fortnight, I’ll talk briefly on Sonic 4 Episode 2, but your best bet is to high-tail it over to Sega Bits to listen to the latest Sonic Talk podcast, in which I participated, and in true Spindash fashion, extended to roughly two hours.
