Despite the fantastic ability to create a 3D, universal avatar on the Nintendo Wii, few games, even Nintendo games, take advantage of the ability to put yourself into the game.  Fewer still let your Mii do anything directly controllable.

But Sonic Colors seems to want to change this trend by letting you play as your Mii in the game’s special Co-op mode, the Sonic Simulator.  Alternate character skins for this mode have been alluded to, though it was unclear if this meant other Sonic characters or alternate Sonic hues.  With the addition of Miis to the game, we now know that it will be virtual you running across the virtual landscapes with virtual Sonic.

The information comes as part of an NGamer review of Sonic Colors for Wii, where the U.K. magazine praises the game’s variety, but had concerns over the multiplayer.

    Why am I not surprised?

This seems like an awesome idea though, being able to play as a Mii. I just wish Nintendo would get on the ball with this sort of things, as games like Wii Sports are fun, it doesn’t always feel like you. I wait for my RPG that makes all the main characters Miis.

Imagine the possibilities…… now you can have a sonic game with countless other video game chracters in them. Now we can finally see if mario is faster than sonic or not.

That’s………. just stupid. But we all knew it was coming. The idea sounded good at first, but then when we find out that we barely get to do anything but crummy side games and the graphics suck, it’s all over.
